2013–St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations on the Northwest Line

In the month of March everyone is a little Irish. Here is a listing of festivals and parades that will allow you to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day all weekend long. So don your green and get ready to party! We will keep you posted as more details are finalized for these events.


2013 Mount Prospect Irish Fest — Saturday, April 27th

You don’t have to be Irish and it doesn’t have to be Saint Patrick’s Day for an Irish Celebration. Head to Mt. Prospects Irish Fest. Irish Music, Irish Dancers, Irish Goods, Irish Food and of course Irish Beer. All in a heated tent. Hop on the train and let Metra do the driving.


Park Ridge Pizza Fest — Great Music & Pizza –Sept. 7 & 8

Bands & Pizza

Great bands (like headliner Foghat) and Pizza get together and the first Pizza Fest is born. Both Friday & Saturday will feature a fantastic music lineup, as well as activities for the kids. All within walking idstance of the train.


Uncork Barrington 2012 — Wine Tasting Extravaganza July 6th

7th Annual Wine Event

Combine live jazz music, food, wine, and art, and you have a great formula for a perfect evening. Mark your calenders for “Uncork Barrington”. This is an opportunity to sample 50 wines from around the world and pair cuisine from local restaurants to complement the wine selections. New this year, an art fair featuring select artist.


2012 Oktoberfests & Fall Festivals — On the Northwest Line

If you are looking for some great family entertainment or some great grown-up entertainment, there is something for you in one these Fall Festivals. With dates from Sept 14th to Oct 31st, there is sure to be one that will fit the bill.


Palatine Rotary Oktoberfest 2012 — September 14th-16th

Head to Downtown Palatine to enjoy some German food and of course some German beer at the Palatine Rotary’s Oktoberfest.The fest features live entertainment, and on Saturday afternoon-family activities. Best of all admission to Oktoberfest is free and all monies raised will support local charities.


Chicago SausageFest 2012

Kick off the summer festival season with a trip to Chicago SausageFest conveniently located by Wrigley Field. This two day event will feature continuous live music, great food and drink benefiting the Prostate Cancer Foundation. One of the festivals highlights will be the crowning of the 2012 Sausage King.


Chicago’s 2012 Craft Beer Week, May 17-27th, Visit Breweries on the Line

With Craft Beer Week fast approaching we like to entice all the craft beer lovers out there to check out the 11 day event celebrating “Chicago: A City of Neighborhoods”. We have some great craft breweries listed that are within a mile of the Northwest Pacific line.


Barrington Brew Fest — July 7th, 2012

Craft Beer from 40 brewers, live entertainment and good food, what more could a person ask for? Head to downtown Barrington July 7th for the 9th Annual Brew Fest. Tents are located at the North Lot of the Barrington Metra Station, so with over 100 beers to sample, hop on the train and let Metra do the driving. Proceeds go to a good cause.


Edison Park Fest — August 17th – 19th, 2012

The Edison Park Festivals is perfect for a family or an adult night out. During the day enjoy activities geared for families and at night there is a great band lineup. If you haven’t had the chance to visit Edison Park, this festival is a great opportunity to check out this town filled with great restaurants and night life.
