Art of the Land — September 19-20th, 2014

Take the Metra Northwest Line to the last stop, downtown Harvard, and you will
find much more than a small farm community.

The Fifth Annual Art of the Land

September 19th & 20th – The Land Conservancy of McHenry is hosting “Art of the Land” Art Sale & Benefit”, at the historic Starline Gallery in Harvard.

The artists invited to participate in this event love the beauty of the area, and that love is somehow reflected in their work, whether they are working with fabric, glass, or paint. The artists are inspired by the local land, but don’t expect to find traditional landscape paintings at the show. Pieces will range from handmade kites, to naturalistic oil paintings and pastels, to basket weaving to photographic interpretations.

Friday September 20th and Saturday the 21st from 6:30-9:30pm - The art show & benefit features the work of over 100 talented artists, artisans and photographers from the area.

Both Nights feature:

  • Art Show & Sales
  • Photo Contest Display and People’s Choice voting
  • Live Music
  • Delicious Appetizers from 1776 Restaurant
  • Sweets from many local confectioners
  • Cash Bar

Proceeds benefit the Land Conservancy of McHenry County’s land preservation work.  For tickets & more info go to http://www.conservemc.org/ways-to-help/special-events-fundraisers/art-of-the-land-art-show-benefit.html
