Here in the Midwest in the middle of winter the word Frozen doesn’t exactly conjure up great feelings. If you feel like Anna in the movie frozen you may feel trap in icy world. We have found four fun activities on the Northwest Pacific Metra Line.
1. Visit Julie Ann’s in Crystal Lake. This unique dessert shop is a little further off the tracks than we normally promote, but it is so worth the trip. Julie Ann’s is featuring a special sundae in honor of the movie. The Frozen Snowman a small scoop of vanilla custard top with cotton candy sprinkles and a snowman sugar cookie frosted with white chocolate. 3. Ice Skating There are several ice rinks around the city, but 2 of the most popular are located at popular Chicago attractions. This annual event draws teams of professional snow sculptors from around the world who will create a sculpture out of a 10 foot block of snow.
