Prizes will be awarded for the Scariest , funniest and most original costumes in four age categories. All free to the public.
Crystal Lake – October 31st 3:00 – 7:00
Plus: Monday Oct. 31st – Halloween Handout -from 3pm-5pm. A favorite among young children! Participating merchants throughout Downtown Crystal Lake open their doors to invite costumed children 12 and under to receive a treat.
Cary – October 31st 4:00 – 7:00
Plus: Saturday, October 26 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. The Cary Grove Chamber is hosting Cary’s annual Downtown Halloween Walk/Parade. Children will line up on Jandus Road and trick-or-treat at participating downtown businesses down Jandus and W. Main Street.
W. Main Street will be closed during the event and traffic will be detoured around downtown. The Halloween Walk has attracted 300 to 500 area children for the festive parade.
Fox River Grove – October 31st 3:30 – 7:30 PM
Plus: Saturday, October 26 from 1 – 3 p.m. The Fox River Grove Halloween Walk/paradewill be held in the Stone Hill & Foxmoor Crossings Shopping Centers. Line up will begin at Leader ACE Hardware and continue through the shopping center.

Plus the Arlington Heights Park District will host its annual “Trunk or Treat, Friday, October 25th, at the Village of Arlington Heights Public Works Building, 222 N. Ridge Avenue
Activities will be inside including the trick or treat line, games, jump inflatables, Mad Science demonstration, an arts and craft project and refreshments. Pre-registration $5, $10 at the door. Trick or Treat from car to car INSIDE the Public Works building. Businesses and organizations will decorate their vehicles and provide “Halloween Handouts.” Come in costume; we’ll provide the treat bags.
