It’s that time of year when the craft beer selection includes beers with names such as Angry Orchard , Jolly Pumpkin or Birrificio Montegioco Demon Hunter. Don’t let the season pass with out hopping on board for this hauntingly fun seasonal beer crawl.
Start in Woodstock at Main Street Pour House. The Pour House opened in 2013 and is dedicated to offering a great beer selection including international and micro-brews. There are a number of seasonal beers including Rouge Dead Guy available. We suggest you stop in Woodstock first, because Metra has a limited late night schedule from this station.

Next stop is downtown Crystal Lake at Duke’s Alehouse and Kitchen. They take beer seriously here, and this year they are featuring 13 different “scary beers” . Most likely the best selection on the line. Try all 13 during the month of October and you will receive a commemorative t-shirt. While we don’t recommend you do this in one evening, we do recommend Duke’s. Duke’s is located across from the train station. Next stop is Palatine, where you will find Durty Nellies which also features an extensive beer menu. This bar is located across from the station. You will have to let us know if the beers are as good as their names; Wychwood Hobgoblin and New Holland Ichabod Pumpkin Ale. Durty Nellies is one of the more well known venues on the line, with live music on the week-ends,

Also at the Palatine stop, you will find Bauer Brauhaus, which has 8 seasonal draft beers such as Southern Tier Pumking and Revolution Oktoberfest. Fun, frighting or fabulous, you decide. Bauer Brauhaus is located across the tracks from Durty Nellies, less than 5 minutes from the station.
