Upcoming Fall Events — September & October on the Northwest Line

Fall is upon us, head out and enjoy the change of seasons.  Here are some fun ideas to help get you going. Check back often for an updated listing and let us know if we have missed any events within walking distance of the Metra NW Line Stations.           

Fall Events in Harvard:  

Art of the Land

The Starline Gallery’s Fourth Fridays -
 The Starline Gallery’s “Fourth Fridays” art exhibit and reception. A monthly gala art exhibit/reception
showcasing local artists in a picture perfect space. Along with live music, wine and other refreshments as well as delectable hors d’oeuvres. From 6:00 – 9:00 pm on the  4th Friday, of every month. Cost is $5 at the door. The Starline Gallery is at 400 W. Front St., Harvard, IL 60033.  Right around the corner from the Metra Station.   

Fall Events in Woodstock

First & Third Friday of every month – Jazz Jam at Stage Left Café:     

Jazz jams are held on the first and third Fridays of every month. All levels of jazz musicians and vocalists are welcome with knowledge of the Real Book selections.            

 Student musicians are encouraged to join in these jams.  Real Books are provided. $5.00 donation requested at door. For information on jazz jam protocol go to: www.jazzonthesquare.net  

  

Fall Events in Crystal Lake:

Saturday, September 24th - Johnny Appleseed Festival: from 9am to 4pm in Downtown Crystal Lake. This family-fun event has it all – Craft Fair, Pony Rides, Petting Zoo, A Pumpkin Train, Pumpkin Bowling, Clowns, Face Painting,Story Telling, Temporary Tattoos, Wagon Rides, The Farmers Market and so much more! New this year - The Radio Disney Road Crew! September at the Raue Center for the Arts        

A Just off the Tracks Favorite

8:30 pm - Lucy’s Comedy Café – This one of Just off the Tracks’ favorites, you are seated on the stage with the comedians for an up close and uncontrollable evening of laughter. When reserving your tickets, you may pre-order bottles of wine or buckets of beer. Note: Pre-ordering reserves you the best table available at the time of your order. Tickets are ONLY $20 in advance, $25 day-of.  

9/23, 7:00 pm - Stargazers Ball – Join us for our largest, annual fundraiser as we bring it home to Raue Center for the first time! A memorable evening including a celebration of the arts and our community! (21+) $100       

9/25, 5:00 pm - Agua Dulce – One-of-a-kind, hands-on food and drink event featuring the unique flavors of Latin America. Learn to make your favorite cocktail while sampling dishes from around the world. (21+) $35

Fall Events in Barrington:

 September 30 at 7:30 p.m, 3rd Fridays - in the Gallery: Old Time Radio-style performance of “Rebecca Diamond, Private Eye” on Friday,  in the BCAC Art Gallery in the Ice House Mall.
Local playwright Nita Hunter created the character Rebecca Diamond, Private Eye and penned the two episodes which are patterned after the old-time detective shows heard on the radio.  Actors will step up to the mikes and the performance will also include live music and sound effects. Tickets are only $5
3rd Fridays
is a monthly program sponsored by BCAC and TesserAct Theatre and is an evening to promote community theatre and thespian fellowship in the Barrington area.  www.barringtonculturalartscenter.org

Fall Events in Park Ridge:

Announcing Park Ridge First Fridays:            

First Fridays in Park Ridge, a series of local events to provide an evening of art, music, shopping and dining.             

Approximately 30 merchants will be open late and will be hosting artists in their shops. Specials and activities are planned for many Uptown and South Park area shops and restaurants. From 6-9 pm., but most merchants will have specials all day long.

September 19th through the 25th – The 1st annual Edison Park Restaurant Week:        

3 course prix-fixe menus at ridiculously low prices

Edison Park Restaurant Week is a fantastic opportunity to get a taste of fine dining without breaking the bank, as 10 restaurants throughout the area offer a 3-course prix-fixe meal at one low price.  $15 lunch, $25 dinner on weekdays, $30 dinner on weekends, that is hard to beat!
