The Fourth Annual Art of the Land
September 21st & 22nd – The Land Conservancy of McHenry County is hosting “Art of the Land” Art Sale & Benefit”, at the historic Starline Gallery in Harvard.
The artists invited to participate in this event love the beauty of the area, and that love, is somehow reflected in their work, whether they are working with fabric, glass, or paint. The artists are inspired by the local land, but don’t expect to find traditional landscape paintings at the show. Pieces will range from handmade kites, to naturalistic oil paintings and pastels, to photographic interpretations.
The Gallery opens to the public on Friday September 21st, from 6:30-9:30pm. The art show & benefit features the work of over 100 talented artists, artisans and photographers from the area .
Friday evening also features the Third Annual “Voices of the Land” a coffeehouse-style showcase of poetry, short videos, original music and storytelling by local talent.
Saturday, September 22nd from 6:30-10pm, For the Land Conservancy benefit with, hors d’oeuvers, silent auction and music to celebrate the beauty of the art work and the local land.
Tickets to the September 21-22, event are just $20 in advance and after 9/19-$30 at the door. The tickets are good for both nights. Proceeds benefit the Land Conservancy of McHenry County’s land preservation work.
