Join the fun for a Pub Crawl in Edison Park. The crawl is open to the public. Last years event had over 225 attendees. The Crawl benefits the children and adults of New Horizon Center for the Developmentally Disabled on the Northwest Side of Chicago. The Pub Crawl begins at Emerald Isle at 1:00pm on Saturday, March 10th 2012 in Edison Park. It’s $40 per person which includes a t-shirt, beer tickets for each bar and pizza.

St. Patrick’s Day in Norwood Park
Sunday, March 11, 2012 12:00pm – Northwest Side Irish St. Patrick’s Day Parade: The Northwest Irish Parade is a celebration of faith, family, and heritage on the Northwest side of Chicago.
On Sunday March 11th the Northwest Side Irish will host their 9th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Over 150 parade participants with thousands of spectators will attend the Northwest Side Irish friends and family Parade. The parade participants include The Jesse White Tumblers, The Emerald Society Band, Mullane Irish Dancers, St. Patrick’s High School Jazz Band, Forman High School ROTC, Notre Dame High School Band, Trinity Irish Dancers and many more community friends and families.
The Official NWSI After Party beginning at 1:00 pm will take place at 7211 W. Talcott at the Immaculate Conception Elementary School Recreation Center. Tickets for the after party are 10:00 per person,$5:00 for children 10 and under includes a Danny Boy Corned Beef and cabbage dinner, Eli’s Cheese cake, beer, wine, soda, and live entertainment! Mr D’s at Arlington Park will be celebrating with Food and Beverage Specials all day between March Madness and St. Patrick’s day there is a lot to celebrate. St. Patrick’s Day in Palatine:
Palatine’s 2nd Annual “Paint the Town Green” festival will be held on Saturday March 17th, 2012. Come on out and “Paint the Town Green”. This fun filled St. Patrick’s Day Event day kicks off with with a tented Irish Market at 180 North Smith Street from 8:00 AM until 1:00 PM. The market features 16 vendors including Irish wares from Long Grove’s Paddy’s on the Square, McNulty Irish Dancers who will be teaching Irish dance, Safari Childcare’s face painting and other kid’s activities. There will also live music all day , starting with fingersytle guitarist Merv Collins at 9:00 AM, Guyz with Bad Eyez performing for two hours starting at 10:00 AM, followed by Irish music from the duo of Dr. Gerry Aylward and Dave Kunzweiler from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM.
The celebration continues with a parade at 11:00 AM in downtown Palatine. The parade begins on Wood Street near the community parking lot at 200 East Wood Street, continues west to Brockway and concludes south to Wilson Street. The parade features over 40 entries and 600 participants including the Midlothian Scottish Pipe Band, McNaulty Irish Dancers, Trinity Irish Dancers, The Little Leprechauns of Dorset Avenue and the Palatine Dance Company.During the parade marchers with shopping carts will collect food, clothing and disposable paper products for Journeys from PADS to HOPE.
In addition to the Parade and Irish Market, activities and entertainment are being planned at downtown businesses and restaurants throughout the day and evening. There will be a huge tent in front of McGonigal’s Irish pub so you can enjoy the celebration without worrying about the fickled March weather. The party will run all day – both days, beginning at 11:00am until 1:00am.
