Whether you are a beginner or want to improve your skills, Nancy Merkling Photography has a class for you. Classes range from learning to use your camera, to composition and portrait art, all at affordable prices. If your calendar conflicts with the dates she has scheduled, get together at least two of your friends and Nancy will hold a workshop just for you. The classes are held in the historic Starline Gallery. The gallery covers 3 city blocks and is over 100 years old. Starline is conveniently located across the street from the Harvard Metra Station. This is a great way to network with and get inspired by other photographers.
Before class you may want to stop by Swiss Maid Bakery, a local favorite. Grab a cup of coffee and something to tide you over during class. This old fashion, no frills bakery is unfortunately not open on Sundays or Mondays.
After class take time to go through Steel Hearts LTD. This unique showroom carries a variety of home and garden products, most of which they design and manufacturer. Their inventory includes wrought and cast iron pieces, new and antique stone items, as well as furniture. Many of these pieces are decorative as well as functional. Steele Heart is also located in the Starline Gallery.
To get to Starline Gallery home of Nancy Merkling Photography and Steel Hearts head northeast on North Ayers Street, then left on West Front Street. The gallery will be on your left. Swiss maid Bakery is just a few minutes away. From the station head northeast on North Ayer, then right on East Brainard Street.
