Celebrate Bright Barrington Traditions, with a weekend of Holiday Magic

Kick off the holiday season Thursday evening, December 1st during ‘Luminary Night’. Shops and restaurants throughout the Village will be participating in this beautiful evening, when luminaria light the way from store to store across the Village. There will be raffles, hot chocolate, cider, sweet treats and so much more!

Then on Friday, Shop and Dine Barrington: Friday, December 2, 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., start a new holiday tradition, dine in your favorite Barrington restaurant on the eve of Santa’s arrival to Downtown Barrington. The area restaurants are creating special menus and events for this dining experience. Make your reservations today.

Carriage Rides

Enjoy Barrington’s Annual Holiday Traditions. Saturday December 3rd from 10am till 7pm. Barrington is filled with unique holiday events leading up to their Tree Lighting.  From the Metra station you can head over to South Cook Street and catch the Holiday Trolley, that will transport you to all of the festivities.

‘Candy Cane Festival’ at the Foundry Shopping center from 10am-2pm. Enjoy free photos with Santa. Check out the petting zoo, explore a Barrington Fire Truck and visit over 15 participating retailers for special treats and surprises.

‘Winter Wonderland’ at the Ice House Mall from 11am -4pm. The magic starts at 11am with a Story Hour by Mrs Claus, followed by cookies & milk. At 1:30pm, enjoy a holiday dance presentation of “The Nutcracker” by Midwest Dance Collective. At 2:30pm be a part of Santa’s Grand Welcome – Children will receive magic wands to greet Santa and the Nutcracker Dancers as they arrive by trolley to our Winter Wonderland for visits and photos at 2:30pm. Children can wave their magical wands as Santa and his friends depart for Gingerbread Land.

 ‘Gingerbread Lane’ at the Shops on Lageschulte from 1pm – 5pm. Gingerbread Lane comes to life with candy canes and Gingerbread people lining the street. Enjoy strolling carolers and activities. Have your picture taken with the Gingerbread People at Norton’s USA The Holiday Trolley arrives at 4:00 p.m. with Santa on board to visit with the children on his way to the Village Center for the annual Tree Lighting Celebration.

‘Barrington Aglow’,1 to 7pm  In the Village Center on South Cook St. Delight in an evening of holiday cheer with free carriage rides, Madrigal Singers, extended evening hours in the shops and restaurants. Then watch as Santa arrives to light Barrington’s Christmas tree! The Tree Lighting Ceremony is at 5:00 pm. After the tree lighting, Santa will visit with the children in his red Santa House on South Cook Street; from 5:00pm to 7:00 pm. Refreshments and hot cocoa will be offered to those who have braved the cold. Remember to bring your camera to capture those memorable moments with Santa.
 
Village-wide Merchants Open House: Sunday, December 4, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm; Merchants will be hosting in-store events to welcome you!  Take advantage of the many wonderful choices! 

 
Celebrate Shopping Barrington SweepstakesNovember 1 – December 12

 The Celebrate Shopping Barrington Sweepstakes has returned!  Beginning on November 1 and continuing through December 12, shoppers are invited to join the fun.  No purchase necessary.  Shop at participating Barrington merchants to receive an entry card and win up to $250.00 in Barrington Shopping Dollars. The contest prizes include:
