The Tracks Bar & Grill
The Tracks Bar and Grill is housed in a historic building in Cary, dating back to 1865. They were voted as Northwest Herald’s “Best of the Fox 2010″ for their Hamburgers and Fish Fry. We had to find out what makes this bar/grill a dining favorite.
On November 24th we interviewed Leo Florio owner of the Tracks Bar and Grill about his business.
Can you describe your business?
We are a family owned bar and restaurant. My wife Sharon and I started the business and we celebrated our 30th year in business on June 1st, 2011. Over the years as our children have grown, they too have become involved in the operation of the Tracks.

- The bar
You are known for your hamburgers but it looks like you have a large menu.
We have a great burger menu with over 30 hamburgers, but that is only a portion of our offering, we offer a full menu and daily food specials. We have a terrific following for our broasted chicken and fish fry.
It looks like you have a lot of unusual hamburgers on your menu, what is your favorite?
I like the Sunrise Burger which we only serve on Sundays. This hamburger is topped with an egg, bacon and cheddar cheese. You have to taste it to believe how good it is.
What do you feel makes your business unique?
Our customers! Many of our customers are like family, we provide a safe , comfortable place where you will feel at home if you are with a group of friends, your family or even by yourself.
You mentioned families, do you get many families?
We do, we even have a children’s menu. We have a lot of families come in for dinner to enjoy our casual atmosphere, and in the summer during “cruise nights” they enjoy coming in and dining on our patio.

The Tracks Patio
We noticed your great patio in the back, is that new?
We recently added the patio after tearing down the old barber shop. The customers really enjoy it from early spring to late fall.
You have a wall full of photos, what can you tell me about them.
Most of the photographs are of family, a few of celebrities, and some historical pictures of the building. We have done a lot of renovations, trying to bring back some of original elements. Over the years the building has housed a real estate firm, a hairdresser and in the early 1900′s it was a saloon.
Does your business offer any additional services or events?
We host a number of events, such as golf outings and trips to the ball park. Last season we went to the Brewers/ Cub’s game in Milwaukee.
You are right across from the Cary Metra Station, do you get many people from the train?
Yes, since it is so easy to get on and off the train, we get a lot of people on their way home from work. We also get a lot of people from Barrington and some of the other nearby towns for dinner. We are also a favorite stop for bar crawls.

Saturday we ate dinner at the Tracks with a group of seven people, six of which had burgers. Every one loved them and couldn’t believe the variety and that Medium Rare was Medium Rare and that Medium was Medium!! The broasted chicken was also very moist and delicious. And best of all Stella Artois beers are $4 bucks every day. We will definitely be going back often.
