The Lamplighter Inn Tavern & Grille is family owned pub and bar located in Palatine. On Wednesdays they host an open mic night. To get to Tin Man’s Sport Pub from the Fox River Grove Metra Station, head southeast on Parking Lot Drive, left on Algonquin Road, right on US 14 East, left on IL 22 East. This is about a 15 minute walk.
The Stage Left Cafe is located in annex of the Woodstock Opera House in downtown Woodstock. On the second and fourth Fridays of the month, from 7 p.m. to midnight, the cafe hosts an open mic night. To get to Stage Left Cafe from the Woodstock Metra Station, head southeast on Wheeler Street which turns into Main Street, then turn right on Cass Street, left on North Johnson Street, left on North Van Buren Street. The cafe is to the right of the Opera House. From the train station this should only take about 5 minutes.
