Whether you are shopping for a gift or something special for your home, this is the excursion for you. Downtown Crystal has several great stores to browse through.
Start going south from the Crystal Lake train station to Williams Street. On the east side is Sunflower Samplings. Although this is primarily a yarn and knitting store, the front half of the store has gift and home interior items.
Continuing down Williams Street, the next shop you will run into will be Out Of The Box. This adorable, award winning shop has a great assortment of gift-ware and accessories. Their friendly staff are always willing to help you find the perfect gift or perhaps something for yourself. They even include free gift wrapping.
Wickham Interiors is located a few doors down on the same side of the street. The store is owned and operated by one of McHenry County’s foremost professional interior designers. There are two floors featuring quality home accessories and gifts.
Your next stop will be LuLu’s Wiggin Out. This shop is full of surprises. From the minute you walk in the door you will have fun poking around the store looking for something special for you or your home.
Staying on the same side of the street, but crossing over Brinks Street, half way down the block you will find Yours & Meyn, featuring home accessories and other furnishings.
A few doors down from Yours & Meyn is Clix. I think they describe themselves best when they say they have “Original Gifts for Imaginative Minds.” Even if you don’t have that imaginative of a mind you may feel like you do when you leave their shop. They specialize in beautiful papers, note cards, jewelry, unique home accessories, and all things photography related.
At this point you will probably want to stop for lunch. Williams Street Public House is on the opposite side of the street half way up the block. You can enjoy a leisurely lunch and cocktail if you wish.
After lunch, we suggest you circle around the block to your right onto Brinks Street. Take another right on Grant Street. On the east side you will find The Perfect Pear. This cute little shop has limited hours so you may want to call ahead.
From here go to your right and you are less than a block away from the train. Should you have more time and energy you may want to combine this excursion with the Head to Toe Clothes Shopping Experience.
