Matt’s is also a great bar crawl spot, right across from the Crystal Lake station.
If you ride the train through Palatine then you most likely have seen this Palatine landmark. Durty Nellie’s is known for their Great Food, Live Music and Outstanding Selection of Beer. Their Convenient location across from the Palatine Metra station makes this pub an ideal choice for your next pub crawl.

“One Track Trips” by ABC’s Roz Varon, is a series of day trips taking the Metra from Chicago to different towns along the tracks. On one of her most recent Trips, Just Off The Tracks acted as her guide to discover Arlington Heights. We spent the day visiting the Metropolis Performing Arts Center and some unique shops in Downtown Arlington Heights.

The warm weather is on the way, so get ready for a day in the country. If you are coming in from Chicago, Harvard is the last stop on the Pacific Northwest Metra Line. It also is a great place to pick up the Long Prairie Bike Trail. This trail will take you by many small communities along the way.
Edison Park Fest is one of the summers most enjoyable fests. With something for everyone, a great music lineup, beer garden, bags tournament, craft fair, and a Saturday filled with family entertainment. Make sure to take some time away from the fest and walk around the area. We usually sneak away and grab a bite at one of the many great local restaurants.
Set aside a day to attend this years Mozart Festival. The festival is a Woodstock tradition and takes place in the the 1880′s Woodstock Opera House. Come for the day or one of the weekends and plan to spend some time on historic Woodstock Square, eating shopping or strolling through the park.
Head to Mount Prospect for one of their most highly awaited events, the Downtown Block Party. Filled with live entertainment, food and fun. Including lots of activities throughout the day geared for family fun. This festival is in the heart of Downtown Mt Prospect, JUST OFF THE TRACKS.
